Correction. The photo is the house south of the real Surratt Tavern. I had to tap on the arrows to get to the correct building.

Don't go on a cold day. Inexpensive for the whole family to enjoy. They gave away books so you could further your knowledge. People were extremely nice.

I’m a rehab therapist and I took a group of folks there today with disabilities and they did a great job accommodating us. The guide kept us entertained , the management treated us like friends and the house was decorated with great detail true to it’s history. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a professional tour tucked in an easy to get to location. I left wanting to know more about local history with books in hand. A gem!

The Mary Surratt House is beautifully preserved and furnished with many exquisite period pieces. Did you know the Surratt Tavern and public room were once the popular gathering place for Confederate sympathizers in Prince George's County?. We had a docent who was wonderfully well-informed and full of arcane details about the home and Mary Surratt which she spun out in a fascinating way. This is a first-rate way to spend a couple of hours of a fall afternoon.

Limited hours but just walking around outside is still fun and informational.
